Frequently Asked Questions
How can I contact you?
I prefer to communicate by email or text. I am not easy to reach by phone, so I recommend that you start with email to set up a good time to talk.
Texting is a good option.

Where do you tutor?
Most of my in-person tutoring is done at my home in the North Paulding area. I also tutor online.
Do you have an area for parents to hang out during a tutoring session?
Yes, I have a very comfortable sitting area with wi-fi access. You can close a glass door and have your own privacy. I do prefer that no one eats or drinks in that room though.
If parents prefer, they can drop kids off and come back. The closest shopping is Publix, about 10 minutes away.
What does online tutoring entail?
Online tutoring is a great option for some. To see more about it, look at the 'online option' in the top navigation menu.

What payment plan to you require?
I accept checks and cash and Venmo. I prefer to keep it informal and accept payment at the end of a session. I understand that not having a pre-payment policy makes cancellation and no-showings more likely. I hope that my clients will be fair to me and realize that I have planned my personal schedule and my other tutoring appointments around your appointments. If you cancel or no-show I cannot change my plans so I lose out on some other opportunity. So please, be considerate and give advance notice if you can’t make an appointment.
Are you still learning?
Why, yes!!! I love to read in general, but I especially like reading about math and science history, brain development and learning and math education. I subscribe to The Great Courses and frequently watch their videos. I continueally re-study on math topics so that I am prepared to tutor. A non-up-to-date list of my Continuing Education activities can be found here:
Do you offer a guarantee?
The only guarantee I can offer is that I will do my best to help each student learn. I cannot turn bad grades around during the last week of the semester. I cannot promise A's on every test. All I can promise is encouraging and knowledgable tutoring. But I've found that with most kids, it is just what they need. :)
