Tutoring at a distance

The online option can be very effective.  I use a web-based white board provided by Bitpaper. Using Bitpaper, we can see what each other writes and point to things.  We can even upload pdf files or any other image and write on them together.   The Bitpaper pages, with all their 'mark-ups,' can be saved for later viewing.

I use Zoom for video web-conferencing.  With Zoom, we can share screens so we can look at other internet pages as needed.  I also record the entire session and save it on an unlisted Youtube page for later viewing as desired.    Skype and Facetime are also options, but they obviously don't have the screen share and record options.

The student needs good internet access and a room without distractions where he/she can freely talk outloud.  A mouse is also necessary as writing with a touchpad is quite challenging.

Online tutoring has expanded my reach to include other counties and other states.

Here you can see various pictures of my tutoring sessions with students.  (These pictures are with a different web-board.  I need to update my site to include newer pictures.)
